Meetings
You can hire the museum’s auditorium for a meeting, course, conference, presentation or workshop off site. This wonderful room can also be hired for other activities, such as a concert.
Auditorium Het Spijslokaal
The Auditorium is available for meetings, courses, workshops, seminars etc. This wonderful authentic room has a maximum capacity of 80 people in its theatre layout. For smaller groups we adjust the layout of the room, to ensure you always have a suitable and inspirational meeting environment.
The room rates depend on the size of your group. For 2018 we operate the following rates:
Room hire only: € 160.00 for the first hour and € 15.00 for every subsequent hour.

Packages include:
- Morning, afternoon or evening rate, 4 hours:
Unlimited tea (range) and coffee with biscuits or cake, water and fruit juice, fruit, mints and sweets.
- Day rate 8 hours:
Tea (range) and coffee with biscuits or cake, water and fruit juice, fruit, mints and sweets. Includes lunch of home-made soup.
Includes: coffee, tea, unlimited water, use of beamer and projection screen, free Wi-Fi, sound equipment with microphone and 2 flip charts. The amounts shown include VAT.
Air treatment and natural light.
During the winter season – from November to March – you can also use our restaurant area by arrangement in case you wish to split up into groups.
In summer, when the weather is good, you can use our garden. Use several rooms, including the restaurant part, by arrangement.
You can complete your meeting with a shared breakfast, drinks afterwards possibly with finger food or dinner, or a dinner buffet. We charge additional costs depending on your requirements.
As a break we can offer a visit to the museum, subject to availability, possibly with a guided tour. Additional costs will be charged.
On request and subject to availability we can offer a range of activities in the area as a break. Please do not hesitate to ask us.
It is always possible to walk over the ‘Wierde van Warffum’ or around the Breede.
Het Spijslokaal is located in what used to be the “preschool” of Warffum.
This preschool was built in 1903 together with the gym that was housed in the same premises. The preschool was for young children from the age of 4-6 and introduced children to education in a playful manner. The preschool became part of the infant school and is now the first two years of primary education.
The gym, where the auditorium is now housed, was built at the initiative of the local authority. The pupils of the Public Primary School (now the main building of the open-air museum) and of the Christian Primary School used the gym.
